My Roman Empire

Remember that short amount of time when it was going around that boys thought about the Roman Empire a lot? Well I am here to talk about my Roman Empire: the ending of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITH THAT ENDING!?!?!?!?!? I CAN’T GO ON EVERY DAY KNOWING VIOLET AND XADEN ARE MARRIED BUT SHE DOESN’T REMEMBER AND NOW HE’S GONE WITHOUT A TRACE?!?!?!?!

The love that Xaden and Violet have for one another could move mountains. He would do absolutely anything for her, and I whole heartedly believe that. (I mean he did channel from the Earth for her). He taught her how to fight and made it so she wasn’t defenseless. He made sure she could defend herself because he knew that he wouldn’t always be there to save her. 

The whole end of Onyx Storm made me question everything. I keep seeing all sorts of conspiracy theories circulating on my TikTok and they continue to send me into a spiral.  People say he married her because once he was venin, no one could take the throne. Some say he married her because venin don’t hurt the ones they love. I’ve even heard some that say Imogen has been wiping some of Violet’s memories since the series started, and some things Xaden has said such as “I’ve loved you longer than you’ll know” is actually a hint that Violet and Xaden have been together longer than Violet really knows. But if that was the case, wouldn’t she need to wipe everyone’s memories to cover their tracks? I can’t help but go back to think about everything I know about Violet and Xaden and their story. I fear I am going to have to go home and get the series so I can reread it and seriously analyze every little thing that has happened. 

I need to know why he did it. It had to have been out of love for her because I couldn’t bear to think about it being because of anything else. I need to know just how much of her memory was erased. I need to know why Imogen agreed to do it. I need to know why no one else did anything to stop it. I need to know if anyone else had their memories wiped to cover their tracks. I need to know where Xaden went. I need to know why. I need to know what his thought process was. I need to know his point of view. I need the fourth book to be in his POV of everything he has done that has led up to the moment he married Violet and Imogen wiped her memory. I need to know why he chose to leave and where he went. I need to know what the hell he is thinking. I need the 5^th book to come out as a surprise the same time as the 4^th book and I need the 5^th book to tell us everything that happens after getting her memories wiped. 

I don’t know how long I am going to have to wait for all of these books to come out, but I will wait however long it takes. I am addicted to these books like they are a drug. I am going through withdrawals not having the next best thing. 

Rebecca Yarros, if you somehow some way see this, I hope you know that you are an amazing author and I love your work so much. But please, for the love of all that is good, please stop breaking my heart in two and let me know what happens next. My inner Liam is dying not knowing what is happening to Violet and Xaden right now.
